The Law Firm of Naren Thappeta ("The Firm") focuses on providing competent patent related services for businesses and individual entrepreneurs. We are presently accepting clients only with respect to back office services and India Patent Office (IPO) matters, though we have the expertise to represent applicants in front of United States Patent Office.

With respect to back office services, we provide a variety of services ranging from validity/ patentability searches, due diligence support, determining suitability of patents for licensing, and litigation support in relation to global patent needs.

With respect to IPO matters, we provide services in all aspects of securing patents, including preparation, filing, and/or prosecution of applications. We are happy to assist with oppositions proceedings also in front of the IPO.

We are one of the few operations in India with a US patent attorney (Naren) onsite for the past few years. Naren worked in US from 1985-2000 and since then has operated from Bangalore, India. Due to the US experience, we are able to ably assist our US and European clients, in addition to prosecuting applications with the India Patent office (IPO).

In addition to Naren, we have a strong staff of engineers/scientists and experienced support staff. We have multiple in-house India Patent Agents to assist with IPO related matters. The senior engineers have advanced degrees and/or at least a decade of practical industry experience. They assist with application preparation and prosecution, preparation of claim charts, searches, etc., while the junior engineers assist the senior engineers in addition to performing lower complexity tasks such as proof reading, compiling information from various web based records (e.g., assignment information, file histories, non-US patent records, etc.).
